26th Bird Bath Invitational Changes

Changes are being Implemented in 2025

  • Entries will be capped at 1,400 per day.

  • Team Entry Files will be strictly limited to Teams appearing on the 2025 Team Invite Roster (see below). Team Entry Files will be accepted from June 16, 2025 – 9:00 a.m. thru June 23, 2025 – 10:00 p.m.

  • If additional participation capacity is found on June 24, 2025, we will communicate here at FoxCitiesBirdBath.com. Remaining capacity will be allocated on a ‘First Received – First Approved’ basis. Once participation limits are met, FCY reserves the right to stop accepting Team Entry Files. No Team Entry File changes will be accepted after the acceptance window closes.

  • A live “capacity gauge” will be posted here at FoxCitiesBirdBath.com (Bird Bath Invitational page) to monitor participation levels.

  • There will be no time standards requirements for this meet.

  • An 800 Free event will not be offered.

  • The 200 Breast event will occur on Friday Evening.

  • Saturday Morning will consist of two sessions, with a brief break between sessions.

  • Relays will be the first events removed if entries and/or time limits are exceeded.

Why changes are being implemented

At the conclusion of the 2024 Bird Bath Invitational, Fox Cities YMCA was issued a warning by Wisconsin Swimming Inc. for session length (USAS rule 205.3.1F, Wisconsin Swimming policy 3.4.1) and entry count (Wisconsin Swimming policy 3.5.3) violations.

FCY staff has explored several 2025 Bird Bath Invitational meet formats that will aid in adhering to the Wisconsin Swimming Inc. policies. Rest assured, all viable options were explored to maximize the number of teams/athletes based on not only Wisconsin Swimming Inc. requirements, but also the City of Appleton’s Erb Pool availability. Thus, the above detailed meet alterations are being implemented.

We sincerely apologize to teams not included in the initial Invitation List who were hopeful of participating in this year’s Bird Bath Invitational.
